This week, our church family at Home of Jesus the King is filled with joy and thankfulness as we celebrate a very special milestone — our pastor and friend, Pastor Saleem Shalash, has turned 50 years old!
Fifty years is no small number. But for us, it’s not just about counting years; it’s about looking back at all the moments of grace, mercy, and faithfulness that God has poured into Pastor Saleem’s life. His story reminds us that our lives are not defined by our past pain, but by the power of God’s love to transform and redeem.
Many of us know that Pastor Saleem didn’t grow up imagining he’d one day be a pastor. His life took a painful turn through tragedy, but in that dark place, he met Yeshua — and everything changed. From that moment on, his passion has been to bring the hope of the Gospel to others, to share the same love that saved and restored him.
Over the years, God has used Pastor Saleem in so many ways.
He has comforted the hurting, helped families in need, and preached the Good News boldly in Nazareth and far beyond. One of the most powerful parts of his calling has been his heart for reconciliation in Israel. In a land that is often divided, Pastor Saleem has worked tirelessly to build bridges of love and faith between Jews and Arabs. He reminds us constantly that in Jesus, we are one new family — brothers and sisters united in Him.
And what a testimony that is! While the world may see walls and divisions, Pastor Saleem sees opportunities for unity and healing. His life is a living picture of God’s vision for His church: every nation, every tribe, and every people, worshipping the Lord together as one.
As a church family, we have all been blessed by Pastor Saleem’s compassion, courage, and faith. Whether he is standing behind the pulpit, praying with someone after a service, visiting a family in their home, or reaching out to help the poor, he carries the same heart — to show people the love of Jesus in action.
So today, as we celebrate 50 years of grace, we are not just marking time.
We are honoring a journey of faith, a testimony of God’s goodness, and a life poured out for the sake of the Gospel. And we also look forward with great expectation, knowing that God is not finished yet. The best is still to come!
