Recently, I had the privilege of participating in a special television interview with my dear brother, Erez Soref. As we reflected on God’s faithfulness over the years, I found myself looking back on a journey that has profoundly shaped my faith, my ministry, and my understanding of God’s purposes.
During our conversation, I shared part of my personal testimony and how my time studying at One For Israel Bible College became a significant chapter in that journey. Looking back, I can clearly see how that season helped deepen my understanding of God’s Word, broaden my vision for ministry, and prepare me for many of the opportunities God would place before me in the years that followed.
The college provided far more than academic training. It became a place where God deepened my love for Scripture, expanded my perspective, and allowed me to build meaningful friendships with believers from different backgrounds who were united by one faith and one Savior. What made that season especially meaningful was seeing the Gospel lived out in everyday relationships. Studying alongside Jewish and Arab believers gave us opportunities to learn from one another, pray together, wrestle with Scripture together, and discover that our shared identity in Messiah was stronger than the differences that often divide people.
Those experiences helped shape my understanding of what ministry can look like in Israel when Jesus remains at the center. They strengthened my conviction that God’s desire is not merely to save individuals, but to build a family from every background, united by His grace and His truth.
As we spoke during the interview, I was reminded of how faithfully the Lord guides each step of our journey. Often, we do not fully understand why He places certain people in our lives or leads us through particular seasons. Yet looking back, we can see how He uses each experience to prepare us for His purposes.
The lessons I learned during that season continue to influence my ministry today. Whether serving our congregation in Nazareth, sharing the Gospel, encouraging believers, or building relationships across cultural and ethnic lines, I often find myself drawing upon the wisdom, friendships, and experiences that God provided during those years. Looking back, I can clearly see His hand at work in every step of the journey.
One passage that has often encouraged me comes from Proverbs:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Proverbs 3:5–6
In a world that often seems defined by division and uncertainty, we remain convinced that the love of Christ still has the power to transform lives, build bridges, and reveal God’s Kingdom in remarkable ways. The opportunities God gives us to learn, grow, and serve are never meant for ourselves alone. They become part of His greater purpose to reach others with His love and truth.
I am deeply grateful to the Lord for the people He has brought into my life, for the opportunities He continues to provide, and for the work He is doing throughout Israel and beyond. My prayer is that the message of hope, faith, and God’s transforming grace will continue to touch many hearts and point people to the One who alone can bring true peace.
