Rosh Hashana is almost here—the Biblical Feast of Trumpets, the “Head of the Year.” In Jewish tradition, this is the time when families gather around the table, share special meals, and pray for blessings as the new year begins. It’s meant to be a season of joy, reflection, and fresh beginnings.
For us as believers in Yeshua, it goes even deeper. The sound of the shofar doesn’t just welcome a new year—it reminds us of that future day when the trumpet will sound, and our Messiah will return. Rosh Hashana points us straight to God’s promises and the eternal hope we have in Him.
Our Rosh Hashana Project
This year, things feel different. With everything happening in Israel, so many families are carrying heavy burdens. That’s why we feel it’s more important than ever to put our faith into action.
We’ve taken on a big challenge: blessing 500 Jewish families with holiday food boxes packed with more than 25 essential items, plus treats and sweets baskets so their children can celebrate with joy. Each food basket is $50, and each sweets basket is $40. But really—it’s about so much more than the food. It’s about dignity, encouragement, and letting these families know they are not forgotten.
For many new immigrants, this is especially meaningful. They’ve just arrived in the land God promised, but life here can be very hard in the beginning. Helping them celebrate Rosh Hashana the way their parents and grandparents did connects them to their roots—and we pray it also opens their hearts to see Yeshua, the true Light of Israel.
Why This Matters
As Arab believers in Jesus, it’s not lost on us how unique this calling is. God has placed us here to love, serve, and bless the very people He first called His own. That’s reconciliation in action. Over the years, we’ve built trust with our neighboring Jewish town of Nof HaGalil—even their city hall leaders know they can call on us for help. This year, when they reached out asking if we could support needy families during Rosh Hashana, we knew the answer was yes. This is our moment to show them God’s love in action.
