At Home of Jesus the King Church, we’ve always known that following Jesus means more than just words — it’s about action. It’s about loving others, especially those in need, as Christ loved us. And one passage that deeply moves us is Matthew 25:35-40, where Jesus says, “For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink… whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
With this powerful scripture as our guide, we’ve launched a new outreach project through our church’s branch in Haifa. Our goal is simple but profound: to provide humanitarian aid to the homeless — both Jews and Arabs — and to bring the love and reality of Jesus to those who need it most. But more than just giving them humanitarian aid, we want to spend quality time with them, to hear their stories, to pray with them, and to let them know they are seen and valued.
Every week, we pack up our van with food, clothing, and supplies and drive around the city, seeking out those who are living on the streets. We don’t just hand them a meal and move on — we sit with them, talk with them, and share the love of Jesus in a practical way. It’s incredible how much a simple gesture of kindness can open the door for meaningful conversations.
Many of the people we help are curious. They ask, “Who are you? Why are you doing this?” And we tell them, with hearts full of love, that we are Arab believers, followers of Jesus, and that we’re here because of the Word of God. We do this because Jesus calls us to love and serve, to care for the least of these as if we were caring for Him.
This project is about more than just meeting physical needs. It’s about building relationships, offering hope, and letting the homeless in Haifa know they are not forgotten. They are loved, not only by us but by the King of Kings. We are honored to share both the Word and a warm meal with them.
We are praying for these precious souls and ask that you pray with us as we continue to serve and demonstrate the love of Christ to those who need it most. This is what it means to live out Matthew 25, to truly be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community. Every act of love, every moment spent listening, and every prayer shared is a seed planted for His Kingdom.
