Some of the most powerful stories don’t begin with a sermon. They begin quietly—with a simple act of kindness, a hand extended in a time of need, a moment when someone feels seen and cared for. Jaudad’s story is one of those journeys.
When he first came to us at Home of Jesus the King in Nazareth, he wasn’t searching for faith. He wasn’t asking spiritual questions or looking for answers about God. He came because life had become difficult, and like so many others, he simply needed help—food for his family, support for the day ahead, a way to make it through a challenging season. Jaudad comes from a Muslim background, carrying his own story and struggles, and at that point, faith was not part of the conversation. Survival was. But God often begins where we least expect Him.
Week after week, Jaudad returned.
At first, it was for the food packages. But over time, something began to shift. There was no pressure placed on him—no debates, no attempts to convince or persuade—just consistent love, respect, and care. And in that atmosphere, something deeper began to unfold. He started to notice that what he was experiencing wasn’t just kindness—it carried a different weight, a different presence. There was peace here. There was sincerity. There was something real that he couldn’t quite explain, but he couldn’t ignore either. Slowly, quietly, his heart began to open. What began as a practical need became a spiritual awakening, and over time, that love led him to Jesus.
Today, Jaudad is no longer just someone who comes to receive—he is part of the family. He shows up not only to be encouraged, but to serve. There is something deeply moving about watching that transformation—someone who once stood in need now standing alongside us, giving, helping, and being present for others walking through their own struggles. But his journey has not been without hardship. Recently, Jaudad has been facing a serious battle with cancer. It is a difficult road, filled with physical weakness, moments of pain, and the uncertainty that comes with such a diagnosis. Yet what stands out most is not the weight of what he’s facing, but the strength of what he carries within him—faith.
Every time he comes, he asks the same simple request: “Please pray for me in the name of Jesus.” There is no hesitation. No doubt in his voice. Just a quiet, steady trust. And each time we pray, he shares something that stays with us—he says he feels better. Sometimes physically, but always internally. There is peace. There is strength. There is a deep awareness that he is not alone. In the middle of pain, he has found the presence of God. Jaudad continues to trust Jesus for his healing—not just as a hope, but as a living reality in his life.
This is what it means to see the Gospel lived out.
His story didn’t begin with a message from a pulpit—it began with a food package, a simple act of mercy that opened the door to something eternal.
“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
