An update from the Women’s Ministry at Home of Jesus the King Church
At Home of Jesus the King Church, we are witnessing something truly beautiful and powerful unfold among the women of our congregation. What began as a small gathering of five women has now grown into a vibrant and life-giving ministry of over twenty women—a true testimony to God’s faithfulness and the hunger He is stirring in hearts.
This group is lovingly led by Nisreen Shalash, Pastor Saleem’s wife, whose heart burns with passion for equipping women not only spiritually, but also emotionally and practically. Nisreen believes that women are not just supporters of ministry—they are vital builders of the Kingdom. That’s why these meetings are not limited to worship or preaching alone; they are intentionally crafted to speak into the real, everyday struggles that women face, offering biblical wisdom and tools to live victorious, faith-filled lives.
In the most recent meeting, the women dove deep into the lives of three remarkable women of the Bible:
- Mary, the mother of Jesus, whose simple “yes” to God changed the course of history.
- The Samaritan woman, once broken and rejected, who became one of the first evangelists in the New Testament.
- Hannah, a woman of sorrow and longing, who turned her pain into prayer and was answered by God with a prophetic son.
Through their stories, the women were reminded of this powerful truth: No matter your past, your pain, or your personality—God has a purpose for you. Whether you feel like Mary, chosen but uncertain… like the Samaritan woman, wounded but searching… or like Hannah, heartbroken but still hoping—God sees you, loves you, and wants to use you for His glory.
After every meeting, the women continue the fellowship around a shared meal. They laugh, cry, pray, and encourage one another. These times of connection are where walls come down and hearts are knit together. This is not just a ministry—it’s a family.
We believe this women’s group is playing a vital role in strengthening our church and reaching our community. As they grow in faith and unity, these women are becoming powerful vessels for the Lord in their homes, neighborhoods, and beyond.
We ask you to pray for this precious ministry. Pray for Nisreen as she leads, for the women attending, and for even more women to join and discover the life-changing love of Jesus. The harvest is great, and these women are ready!
