Israel is seeing an unprecedented influx of Ukrainian refugees, mainly women and children, as more and more people are fleeing indiscriminate bombing and destruction throughout Ukraine. The men, including the fathers and husbands of these refugees, up until the age of 60 have to remain in Ukraine to help defend the nation as part of the Territorial Defense Forces. As such, we are working hard in collaboration with the Nof HaGalil municipality to provide critical humanitarian aid to newly arrived refugees.
Home of Jesus the King Church is providing refugees with food boxes, clothing, toiletries, and treats for the children. However, we’re not in this alone. Our partners from all over the world have risen to the challenge, and together we’ve been demonstrating the love of Jesus in serving displaced Ukrainians in Israel, as well shining the light of Christ before the Jewish and Arab people of Nazareth and Nof Hagalil.
Next month will be a very strategic month in reaching the different demographics of Nazareth, as there will be celebrations among Christians for Easter, Pesach (Passover) for Jews, and Ramadan for Muslims. We want to use this time period to shine unconditional love on these precious people and show them the reality of Christ through our actions.
We will be distributing more than 300 boxes of non-perishable food items, toiletries, and kids’ snacks to impoverished Muslim, Christian, and Jewish communities in and around Nazareth. Also included in the boxes will be special easter cookies in the shapes of the crown of thorns and the open door of Jesus’ grave, representing the forgiveness of sins and the resurrection of life that is found in Jesus. These cookies are also filled with delicious date paste, which represents the sweet and precious love of Christ for each and every person.
These special Easter celebration boxes will cost us $25 each, and I would like to invite you to sponsor one or more families from among the Muslim, Jewish and Christian communities of Nazareth, and to present them with the love and light of Jesus Christ.
