In the city of Haifa—where the sea meets the mountain and so many cultures and life stories intersect—the Lord has opened a new door for ministry through our new humanitarian aid center. This place is more than a building. It is a response to a calling: to be present, to serve, and to reflect the love of Jesus in a city where much need remains unseen.
Not long after the doors opened, Joseph walked in.
Joseph is homeless. Like many others in Haifa, his life has been shaped by loss, instability, and long seasons of hardship. He didn’t come with many words or expectations. He simply needed food, warmth, and a little help to get through the day. Our team welcomed him, offered him a food package, warm clothing, and a blanket—and treated him with dignity and respect.
Joseph’s story is one we encounter often.
Through our ministry in Haifa, we are meeting men and women carrying heavy burdens—people whose faces show exhaustion, whose hearts are worn, and who have lost security long before losing a roof over their heads. The need is great. Not only for food or material help, but for someone to truly see them, to listen, and to remind them that they are not forgotten by God.
As followers of Jesus, we believe He was always close to the hungry, the broken, and the marginalized. He sat with them. He fed them. He touched their lives with compassion. He saw their value before addressing their need. This is the example that shapes our work.
At the Haifa center, when we offer food, clothing, or a warm blanket, we are doing more than meeting a physical need. We are saying, in a very practical way: you matter. You are seen. You are loved.
The new center in Haifa is an extension of our mission at Home of Jesus the King Church
Our mission to be the hands and feet of Christ, to serve without conditions, and to bring hope into places where despair often feels close. Each day, people like Joseph walk through the door. Some stay for a moment. Some return again. All are welcomed.
Scripture tells us that Jesus “went about doing good” (Acts 10:38), and we are reminded, “Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth” (1 John 3:18). This is the heart behind everything happening here.
Every meal shared with care, every blanket given with kindness, every quiet conversation is a living testimony of the Gospel. These simple acts speak of a God who draws near, who sees the overlooked, and who meets people right where they are.
