This week in Haifa, the soccer field shone with more than just bright lights — it shone with joy. Our team from Home of Jesus the King Church had the privilege of blessing 150 children from a local youth club that serves less-privileged families. Many of these parents struggle to afford even basic participation fees, yet their children dream of playing, learning, and belonging. Thanks to your generosity, those dreams felt a little closer this week.
Each child received a beautifully prepared Hanukkah/Christmas gift pack, complete with treats and a warm reminder that they are seen and loved. Their excitement grew even more when a special guest — a joyful Santa in a wheelchair — arrived to greet them personally and hand out their gifts. The children’s smiles, laughter, and wide-eyed wonder said it all.
Moments like these capture the heart of our ministry. When we bless children who have few opportunities, we live out the teaching of Yeshua, who welcomed the little ones and showed compassion to those in need. Our simple act of giving becomes a reflection of God’s mercy, reminding families that He cares for them and is present in their everyday struggles.
This outreach also strengthens the community’s fabric. When parents see the church standing beside them, hope rises. Trust grows. And children are given a chance not only to enjoy sports but to learn values like love, cooperation, humility, and respect — values that shape their character for life.
Most of all, the joy we witnessed on the field was a testimony of Christ’s work among us. Every smile was a spark of the light we are called to carry into the world, especially as we celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas — seasons centered around God’s faithfulness and the arrival of true hope.
