This week, our HomeJTK team gathered at our Humanitarian Aid Center in Nazareth for an important time of prayer. With the Nazareth Christmas Parade approaching, we wanted to pause, come together, and pray over every part of our outreach — the gifts, the children, the parents, and the message we are bringing to our community.
A Team Moment Focused on the Families We Will Meet
Standing together in the aid center, surrounded by rows of gift packs ready to be finished and delivered, we took time to ask the Lord to bless every child and every parent who would come across our team at the parade.
We prayed that:
- Every child receiving a gift would experience joy and encouragement
- Every parent would sense God’s kindness, warmth, and love
- God would use this outreach to soften hearts
- The true message of Christmas — the birth of Jesus — would be clear and welcomed
It was a simple but important moment for our team. Before we do anything publicly, we want to cover it in prayer.
Preparing Meaningful Gift Packs for the Parade
For several weeks now, our team has been preparing Christmas gift packs that we will hand out to children along the parade route. Each pack includes:
- A toy chosen to bring a smile
- Sweets that every child enjoys
- A fridge magnet declaring “Jesus is the Reason for the Season”
— printed in Arabic, Hebrew, Russian, and English
These packs are not expensive, but they are meaningful. They allow us to bless children and share a clear message in a way that families appreciate.
Why This Outreach Matters This Year
Many families in Israel — including in Nazareth and the Galilee — are under financial pressure, emotional strain, and uncertainty. The Christmas parade is one of the few moments where families from all backgrounds gather with joy, and we want to meet them there with something encouraging and uplifting.
This outreach helps us remind Israelis that Christmas is about the birth of the Messiah, and that His hope is still for everyone.
