Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles, is almost here! This is one of the most joyful feasts in God’s calendar—a time of rejoicing, remembering, and celebrating the goodness of the Lord. In biblical times, the people of Israel lived in simple booths as a reminder that during their journey in the wilderness, God Himself was their shelter, their provider, and their faithful companion. For us as believers in Jesus, Sukkot points us to Emmanuel—God with us—the One who chose to dwell among His people and who will one day reign in fullness among us.
A Season of Joy Amid Hardship
This year, however, Sukkot arrives in the shadow of hardship. The war in Israel has shaken families to the core. Many have lost their jobs. Others are carrying crushing debt and loans they cannot repay. Parents are wondering how to keep food on the table for their children. The cost of living is higher than ever, and for countless families, the holiday season—meant to be filled with joy—has instead become a source of worry and sorrow.
But into this darkness, God has given us together an opportunity to shine His light.
Preparing 500 Holiday Boxes of Hope
Here at Home of Jesus the King Church, we are preparing our Sukkot Outreach Project—a mission of love and reconciliation. With your help, we will deliver 500 holiday food boxes to families in need across Israel. Each one will go to a real person, a real family: single mothers who are carrying the burden of raising children alone, Holocaust Survivors who have already endured so much, new Jewish immigrants struggling to find their feet in a new land, and families whose lives have been devastated by the war.
Each box costs $50, but it is so much more than food. It is a message: “You are not forgotten. God sees you. His people love you.” Every box is a touch of compassion, a spark of joy, a reminder of dignity, and a testimony of the love of Jesus.
Now Is the Time to Stand
Friends, now is not the time to step back—it is the time to stand even stronger with Israel. As the Word of God declares in Genesis 12:3, “I will bless those who bless you.” Together, we have the privilege to bless the people of Israel in a moment when it matters most.
Imagine the joy on the faces of children opening a box of sweet holiday treats…
the relief in the eyes of a mother who no longer has to wonder how to prepare a holiday meal…
the gratitude of a Holocaust Survivor who feels remembered and cherished…
