Our Ukrainian refugee project kicked off last week and it was a wonderful success, as tens of Ukrainian refugee families received aid from Home of Jesus the King Church. Israel continues to see a steady influx of refugees from the war-torn country of Ukraine, with people arriving in the hope of a better life and a fresh start for themselves and their children.
These dear ones arrive in Israel with one or two suitcases and the clothes on their backs, and need all the help they can get as they lay down their roots in Israel. Our need is urgently needed, and so our outreach project to Ukrainian refugees will continue on a weekly basis, in collaboration with our friends from the Nof Hagalil municipality, as well as with Jewish believers throughout the north of Israel.
Not only is this project an effective tool to help these refugees, but it’s also a very effective way for bridges to be built between Jewish and Arab Israelis, as cultural differences are laid aside in view of the greater goal of lifting up the name of Jesus in Israel as One New Man in Christ. The Lord Himself said that when He is lifted up, that he will draw all people unto Him. (John 12:32)
Another wonderful development has been that more and more of the precious refugees have started getting in touch with us. People have been calling to visit us, to spend time in fellowship, as well as to receive clothing, food boxes, and toiletries. I would like to sincerely thank each and every one of our partners who enabled us to provide for the needs of the poor and to build bridges of reconciliation between Jews and Arabs in Israel. May God bless you!
