There are moments in life that words can hardly capture — moments when heaven feels close and your heart overflows with gratitude. One of those moments came recently, when I had the incredible privilege of baptizing my 92-year-old father in the waters of the Jordan River.
As I stood with him, and my son beside me, I could hardly hold back the tears.
Three generations — grandfather, father, and son — standing together at the waters of life. It was as if time stood still and heaven smiled upon us. Seeing my father publicly declare his faith in Jesus after so many years was one of the most moving experiences of my life. It reminded me that the Lord is not limited by age or circumstance. His mercy continues to reach and transform hearts — even in life’s later chapters.
But this day was not only about my father. Along with him, I had the joy of baptizing three other dear brothers and sisters from our congregation. Each one came with their own story — stories of searching, of struggle, and of finding hope in Jesus. As they shared their testimonies, you could see in their eyes the light of new life and the peace that only the Holy Spirit can bring. These were not just baptisms; they were powerful encounters with God’s love that touched everyone who witnessed them.
After the baptisms, we continued our celebration with a peaceful boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Surrounded by the gentle waves and the hills that have witnessed so many of Jesus’ miracles, we lifted our voices in worship and thanksgiving. It was a special time of praise — singing to the same Lord who once walked on those very waters and calmed the storms. The presence of God was tangible, and our hearts were filled with joy.
Later, we shared a wonderful meal together at a nearby restaurant. There was laughter, fellowship, and deep joy as we talked about all that God had done. We rejoiced with those who had been baptized and encouraged one another to keep walking faithfully with the Lord. It was a true picture of the Body of Christ — a family united in faith, love, and gratitude for all that Jesus has done for us.
That day will always remain in my heart.
It was more than just an event — it was a reminder that God is still moving in powerful ways, still calling people to Himself, and still writing new stories of redemption right here in the Land of Jesus.
