This past week at our humanitarian aid center, we experienced one of those truly touching moments that remind us why we do what we do. Luda, a new Jewish immigrant to Israel, walked into our center carrying her beautiful newborn baby boy, Dominic. As we spoke with her, our hearts were deeply moved.
Luda is one of many new Jewish immigrants who have come to Israel in search of safety, hope, and a better future. But the journey hasn’t been easy. Starting over in a new country, especially as a young mother, comes with so many challenges. That’s why we are so thankful that Home of Jesus the King Church can be here—to offer not only practical help, but also love, dignity, and a warm welcome.
We’ve been able to support Luda with food boxes, clothing, shoes, hygiene kits, and baby items like nappies and formula. These are simple things—but to someone like Luda, they mean the world. It’s more than just aid. It’s a sign that she is not alone, that someone sees her, and that she and her baby are deeply loved.
Moments like this are at the very heart of our calling. As Arab Christians in Israel, we believe that one of the most powerful ways to build bridges between Arabs and Jews is to follow the example of our Messiah, Yeshua—who went around doing good, healing the broken, and reaching out to those in need. (Acts 10:38)
Our center is more than just a place to receive help—it has become a place where God’s presence is felt. People often tell us that they sense something different when they come in. There’s peace. There’s kindness. There’s love. We know it’s the Holy Spirit creating an atmosphere where healing and connection can begin.
