Sometimes the greatest gift we can offer someone is not simply practical help, but the reassurance that they are not facing life’s challenges alone.
Recently, our Humanitarian Aid Center in Haifa welcomed a woman named Samira, a Muslim mother raising three daughters while navigating an incredibly difficult season. Like many families across Israel today, rising living costs and financial hardship had made it increasingly difficult to provide even the basic necessities her children needed.
Samira first came to our center almost by chance.
During her first visit, we were able to provide her with much-needed humanitarian aid. As we got to know her and listened to her story, it became clear that her family’s needs were ongoing. Today, she receives monthly support through our humanitarian ministry.
Samira’s story is just one of many. Every month, our Humanitarian Aid Centers serve Jewish and Arab families across northern Israel who are struggling to make ends meet. Some are new immigrants rebuilding their lives from the ground up. Others are elderly people living on limited incomes, single parents carrying heavy responsibilities, or families whose financial circumstances have become overwhelming. Rather than offering help only once, we seek to walk alongside many of these families over time, building genuine relationships and providing ongoing practical support, encouragement, and hope.
When we asked Samira what this ministry has meant to her family, her response was simple but deeply moving.
“I want to thank all of you for your love and your support,” she said. “Whoever blesses people, God will bless them.”
She explained that our assistance makes a real difference for her family and encouraged others to support those who are struggling.
“Even if someone gives only 100 or 200 shekels,” she said, “every gift helps. It helps many families who are in need.”
Her words reminded us that generosity is never measured only by the size of a gift, but by the hope it brings to those who receive it.
At Home of Jesus the King, we believe every person deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and genuine care. Whether someone is Jewish, Arab, Christian, Muslim, or from another background, we serve them because every person is created in the image of God and deeply loved by Him.
As we meet practical needs, we also have the privilege of building friendships, offering encouragement, praying with those who desire prayer, and demonstrating the love of Yeshua through simple acts of kindness.
Before Samira left, we prayed for her and asked the Lord to protect her family, provide for every need, and fill their home with His peace. She responded with heartfelt gratitude, repeatedly thanking everyone who makes this ministry possible.
Stories like Samira’s remind us that compassion has a remarkable way of building bridges.
A food parcel, a warm welcome, or a listening ear may seem like small things, yet they often become powerful reminders that hope is still alive and that no one has been forgotten.
Month after month, we have the privilege of walking alongside families like Samira’s, sharing not only practical assistance but also friendship, encouragement, and the love of God.
