“For He Himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility.”
Ephesians 2:14
Every time I read these words from the Apostle Paul, I am reminded that the Gospel is not simply a message we proclaim—it is a reality that God continues to demonstrate before our eyes. Recently, I experienced one of those moments again.
Our dear friend Jawdad is currently undergoing treatment for cancer. Although he comes from a Muslim background, he has become a familiar face at Home of Jesus the King. Time after time, he visits our congregation because, as he often tells us, he senses something different here. He speaks about the peace he feels, the genuine love he experiences, and the presence of God that touches his heart whenever he walks through our doors.
What encourages me even more is that Jawdad does not come only to receive. He regularly asks how he can help.
Whether serving during humanitarian outreaches or helping distribute aid to families in need, he has embraced the heart of our ministry. He has witnessed believers serving others with compassion, regardless of their background, and he has chosen to become part of that same work. For me, this is one of the most beautiful evidences of God’s love at work. When people experience genuine compassion, they often desire to extend that compassion to others.
Recently, we gathered to pray for my wife Nisreen’s uncle, Abulias, as well as for Jawdad as he continues his cancer treatments. Standing together around them were my wife Nisreen and me, as well as Pastor Sasson Pochtar—a Jewish believer in Yeshua. We prayed in both Arabic and Hebrew, lifting one voice to our Heavenly Father and asking Him to strengthen, comfort, and heal our dear brother.
As I looked around me, I couldn’t help but pause. There stood Arab believers, a Jewish pastor, and a man from a Muslim background—all united in prayer through the love of Yeshua.
This is not the picture the world expects to see. Yet this is exactly the picture the Gospel creates.
For generations, this land has known conflict, suspicion, and division. Headlines often remind us of what separates people. But here at Home of Jesus the King, we have the privilege of witnessing something entirely different. Day after day, we see God bringing people together who, by every human standard, should remain divided. Only Yeshua can create this kind of family.

Please continue praying for Jawdad in the weeks ahead. Pray that the Lord would guide every medical treatment, strengthen him physically, encourage him spiritually, and surround him with His perfect peace. We are believing God to continue His work in Jawdad’s life and trusting Him to reveal His faithfulness every step of the way.
