When the summer winds down and the new school year approaches, thousands of children across Israel—both Arab and Jewish—are getting ready to return to school. For many families, this is an exciting time filled with anticipation and preparation. But for others—especially those facing financial hardship—it can be a season of stress, anxiety, and even heartbreak.
At Home of Jesus the King Church, we believe that no child should start school feeling left behind simply because their family cannot afford basic supplies. That’s why, with the help of our faithful partners, we launched our Back-to-School Project: a special outreach to bless and equip underprivileged children with everything they need to begin the school year with confidence and dignity.
Thanks to the generosity of our partners, we’ve already been able to provide 100 high-quality backpacks and school supply kits, reaching more than 100 children in need—a beautiful act of love that brings together both Arab and Jewish families.
But our goal is to reach 500 children—and 400 children are still waiting.
Each child can be fully equipped for the school year with a backpack and a school supply kit for just $85.
That $85 means:
- A backpack filled with notebooks, pencils, pens, crayons, rulers, adhesive, scissors, and other essentials
- A child who walks into school not feeling ashamed or different, but seen, supported, and prepared
- A parent who feels the burden lifted, and who knows that someone cares—not just with words, but with action
- A visible, tangible testimony of God’s love across cultural and ethnic lines
This project is about so much more than school supplies. It’s about sowing seeds of hope into young hearts. It’s about demonstrating that the love of Jesus has no borders. It’s about building bridges between Arab and Jewish communities through compassion, generosity, and practical care.
We’ve already seen smiles, gratitude, and even tears as families received these gifts. Many asked why we do this—and we are always ready to answer: because God loves you, and so do we.
