Humanitarian work has always been the key to winning the hearts and minds of Israelis, Jew and Arab alike, as they are a people who believe that actions speak louder than words. Benevolence has served as a very effective vehicle for the church in demonstrating the love and compassion of Jesus to Israeli Arabs and Jews in a practical and understandable way. We have found that we, as Arabs that believe in Jesus, have the unique ability to share the Gospel effectively with Muslim Arabs, since we speak their language and understand their mindset in a way that outsiders never can.

Similarly, we as Israeli Arabs are able to relate effectively to Israeli Jews, as we grew up in Israel, and many of us have gone to Hebrew-speaking universities and have completed our terms of national service. With our knowledge of the Torah (Old Testament), we understand the foundations of the Jewish faith and how important the Jewish people and Israel are in the prophetic plans of God.

As we serve the broken, poor, and needy among these two very distinct communities, we do so in an attitude of humility and love, understanding that we are being presented with a divine opportunity to do good and to reflect the Lord’s heart to these dear ones. The Jews and Arabs we come into contact with always raise the question: “Why are you doing this? Why are you helping us?” We then have the opportunity to share that the love of Jesus compels us to be a blessing, and that it’s Jesus’ desire for the people of Israel to dwell together in peace, love and in the knowledge of His son Jesus Christ.

We also share with Jews and Arab families about forgiveness and doing good unto others as the Bible commands. We invite Jews and Arabs to attend our events, projects and conferences, to get to know each other, and to form friendships that will have a ripple effect on others in their lives and communities. The best is yet to come!
