One of the greatest joys for us at Home of Jesus the King Church this season has been seeing the smiles of new Jewish immigrant families as they receive their Rosh Hashanah food boxes and sweets baskets. In the videos we are sharing with you this week, you’ll hear their heartfelt words of gratitude—simple yet powerful “thank you’s” that remind us why this work matters so much.
These holiday packages were put together with one purpose: to help families celebrate Rosh Hashanah properly, with dignity, joy, and a sense of belonging. Many of these new immigrants have come to Israel after fleeing war, persecution, and hardship in their countries of origin. Arriving with little, they are starting over in a new land while carrying heavy burdens of loss and uncertainty. Yet through these gifts, they are reminded that they are not alone.
They are welcomed, cared for, and reconnected to the Land of their Jewish faith in a very tangible way.
But these food boxes and sweets baskets are more than just meals and treats. They are bridges of love. They connect people who may feel isolated to a wider community that truly cares for them. This is the Gospel lived out not only in words, but in action.
We could not do this without you—our partners. Your prayers and generosity are what make these moments possible. You are helping us change lives in Israel, not only filling tables but filling hearts with hope. Through you, families are experiencing joy during the holidays, children are smiling again, and parents are reminded that they are not forgotten.
Partners, you are the ones who make it possible to build these bridges of reconciliation.
You are demonstrating the love of Yeshua in the most practical way, and together, we are shining His light across Israel. We are deeply grateful for you.
And if you haven’t yet had the chance to be part of this project, there is still time. With just $50, you can bless a family with a Rosh Hashanah food box. With $40, you can provide a sweets basket that brings joy to children and completes the holiday celebration. Every gift matters, and every act of love helps us reach one more family.
Thank you, dear friends, for standing with us in this prophetic season of the Fall Feasts. Together we are celebrating Rosh Hashanah in the truest way—by bringing hope, building bridges, and showing the love of Yeshua in action.
With gratitude and blessing,
Pastor Saleem Shalash
