Shalom, dear friends!
This week, we bring you a special message from the Mount of Transfiguration, the very place where Jesus took Peter, James, and John to witness His divine glory. This sacred site, filled with deep biblical significance, reminds us of the unity of the Old and New Testaments, the fulfillment of God’s promises, and our call to live in love and harmony.
As we stood in this holy place, we reflected on two key events that took place here. Firstly, it was the first time that Moses stepped foot into the Promised Land. We remember that Moses was denied entry because of his disobedience when he struck the rock instead of speaking to it, as God had commanded. That rock represents Jesus, the cornerstone of our faith. Yet, through God’s grace, Moses was finally able to stand in the land he longed to see, appearing alongside Elijah and Jesus in this moment of divine revelation.
Secondly, we see in this place a powerful symbol of unity. The presence of Moses, Elijah, and Jesus together represents the fulfillment of both the Law and the Prophets through Christ. Just as Elijah built an altar with twelve stones symbolizing the twelve tribes of Israel, and Jesus called twelve disciples who were later filled with the Holy Spirit, we see the Old and New Testament joined together in the glory of Christ. This unity is at the heart of God’s plan, and it is something we continue to strive for in our own ministry.
Unity is the foundation of our faith and our mission. We are working to raise a new generation free from hatred—one where Arabs and Jews stand together in love and faith, demonstrating the power of the Gospel. As we have shared before, we are committed to showing that Arab believers love their Jewish brothers and sisters, and vice versa. This is the love of Christ in action.
Peter, overwhelmed by the beauty of this moment, wanted to build three shelters—one for Jesus, one for Moses, and one for Elijah—wanting to stay in this place of divine encounter. But Jesus had a mission to fulfill, just as we do today. While we are blessed to stand in such holy places, we must continue to spread the message of God’s love and salvation beyond these mountains.
