One of the things that encourages me most in ministry is seeing how God brings people together, especially during challenging seasons.
Israel has experienced many difficult months. Times of uncertainty, conflict, and instability affect everyone in different ways. Yet even in these circumstances, we continue to see the Lord at work through simple acts of kindness, friendship, and compassion.
Recently, I sat down with a man named Nikola, who first came to us through our humanitarian ministry. Over time, however, he found much more than practical support—he found friendship, community, and a place where he felt he belonged. Today, he is part of our church family.
As we spoke, Nikola shared something that deeply touched my heart.
“I met you not long ago, but today I already feel like I am part of you. Part of the family.”
Those words were a powerful reminder that ministry is about much more than providing practical assistance. Food parcels, clothing, and humanitarian aid are important, but some of the deepest needs people carry are the need for community, belonging, and genuine human connection.
Nikola went on to describe what he experiences when he visits our center and spends time with our congregation.
“What I love is that people give from the heart. You see people coming from every background—Arabs, Jews, Russians. It creates unity.”
As I listened, I was reminded once again of the unique calling God has given us here in Nazareth.
Our ministry serves people from many different backgrounds. Every week we have the privilege of helping Jewish families, Arab families, new immigrants, Holocaust survivors, and others facing difficult circumstances. Although their stories may be different, they often share the same desire—to be treated with dignity, kindness, and respect.
What begins as practical assistance often grows into something much deeper. Relationships are formed. Trust is built. Friendships develop. People discover that they are not alone.
In a region that is often defined by division, we believe the love of Yeshua has the power to bring people together.
The Apostle Paul wrote:
“For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation.”
Ephesians 2:14
We see glimpses of that truth whenever people from different communities sit together, help one another, worship together, and build friendships that might never have existed otherwise.
Nikola described our center as a place that helps strengthen unity and coexistence within Israel. Hearing those words was especially meaningful because this has always been one of our prayers—that the Lord would use our ministry not only to meet practical needs, but also to build bridges between people.
Even during times of war and uncertainty, we remain committed to serving. We continue distributing food, assisting vulnerable families, encouraging the lonely, and demonstrating the love of Yeshua through practical acts of compassion.
Stories like Nikola’s remind us that God is still working. He is still bringing people together. He is still touching hearts. And He is still using ordinary acts of kindness to reveal His extraordinary love.
