It has been a blessing to provide the kids at Home of Jesus the King Church with interesting and engaging activities during their Summer vacation. The Summer break can be a very tedious and boring time for children, because their parents have to work and can’t always afford to take them on regular outings or fun activities. That’s why we knew we had to come up with a plan for our kids to be engaged by Bible-based and fun activities during their Summer break.

We partnered with a local organization called Yalla that specialize in creating fulfilling and fun holiday curriculums for kids at church. The impact that these holiday activities had on our kids were immediate, and all of a sudden everyday became an exciting prospect for our dear children. The team from Yale would meet them at church, prepared with activities such as baking, arts and crafts, Bible stories and dramas, and outside physical activities.

This truly was a groundbreaking new program fr us, as we knew that the kids are the next generation that needs to be nurtured and equipped through the Word of God, whilst having fun and enjoying their childhood. It was clear to see that when we create a nurturing and fun environment for kids in church, that they would look forward to coming to church, to learn more about Jesus, and to know that He has a special plan for their lives—not a boring plan, but a fulfilling and exciting plan!

We see the heart of Jesus reflected so beautifully in Mark 10:13-16 “People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”
