This year’s Christmas Day Parade in Nazareth touched my heart in a very special way. As I walked alongside our team and looked into the faces of the children lining the streets alongside their parents, I was reminded once again why we celebrate Christmas at all. Through the gift distribution service organized by Home of Jesus the King Church, we had the privilege of sharing joy, love, and hope in the most simple—and most powerful—ways. What unfolded that day was far more than a celebration; it was a moment where God’s love became visible.
What many people do not see is how much work goes into a day like this. For months, our staff and many dedicated volunteers worked day and night to prepare—planning, packing, coordinating, praying. The hardest day of all is the parade day itself. We spend long hours waiting for the parade to begin, standing ready, carrying the weight of responsibility and expectation. By the time it was over, we returned home physically exhausted. And yet, as tired as we were, our hearts were full—because we could see that every effort had been worth it.
From the very first moments of the parade, there was a sense of expectancy in the air.
When children received their gifts, their reactions were immediate and sincere—eyes wide with surprise, smiles that needed no prompting, laughter that came straight from the heart. Families paused to watch, sharing in the joy of the moment. In those moments, children felt noticed and cherished, and Christmas became something they would carry with them long after the day had passed.
It mattered deeply to us that the message behind every gift was clear. That is why we shared it in four languages—Arabic, Hebrew, English, and Russian—so that everyone present could hear and understand the same truth: Jesus is the reason for the celebration. Across cultures and backgrounds, one message rose above the noise—a message of hope, peace, and true Christmas joy rooted in Christ.
What moved me even more was realizing that the impact of the parade did not end on the streets of Nazareth. In the hours and days that followed, messages began to appear online—simple words, written from the heart. Parents spoke of their children’s joy, and families shared how meaningful the experience had been. One phrase stood out again and again, and it still echoes in my heart: “You were a source of joy for this Christmas.”

They remind us that when the love of Jesus is shared in practical ways, Christmas becomes more than a season; it becomes a message of love, light, and renewed hope.

As a pastor, these words humble me deeply.
They remind me that love, when given freely, always leaves a mark. I want to personally thank everyone who prayed, gave, and served to make this outreach possible. Through your generosity and unity, we were able to reflect the heart of Jesus to our city. This Christmas, together, we became a source of joy in Nazareth—and for that, we give all the praise to God.
