We here at Home of Jesus the King Church are thrilled to share an exciting new initiative with you—the Hanukkah Kids Project. This project is a unique opportunity to honor our Jewish neighbors in Nof HaGalil and celebrate the festival of lights, Hanukkah, in a spirit of love and unity.
Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights, is an eight-day Jewish holiday that commemorates the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem during the second century BCE. It celebrates the miracle of the oil, where a small amount of consecrated oil, enough for one day, miraculously burned for eight days in the Temple’s menorah. Hanukkah is a time of joy, gratitude, and the triumph of light over darkness.
As Arab believers, we believe in building bridges of reconciliation and friendship with the Jewish people. This Hanukkah, we have partnered with the municipality of Nof HaGalil to distribute 1,000 Hanukkah candy packs to Jewish children in the community. Each pack will be filled with an assortment of candies and a card expressing our love and care for them in the name of the Lord.
On distribution day, our team will drive through Nof HaGalil in our church van, playing the beloved Jewish song “Hevenu Shalom Aleichem,” which means “We Bring Peace to You.” This act symbolizes our heartfelt desire to bring peace and joy to our Jewish neighbors, demonstrating the love of Christ through our actions.

Each candy pack costs $10, and our goal is to prepare 1,000 packs. Whether you, your home group, or your church would like to sponsor one child or many, your generosity will make a significant impact. Together, we can light up the lives of these children and their families during this festive season.
