Women are a key and critical component of our ministry at Home of Jesus the King Church. Our impact in our communities through evangelism and practical aid has increased exponentially through the dynamism and passion of our ladies at church. Each and every one of them can be likened to the woman of Proverbs 31.
At each new monthly meeting, we see one or two new faces, and so the Lord is bringing an increase to our numbers through the personal invitations of our ladies. The new ladies that visit always return, as they testify that they feel like they belong to a family. This is not just a spiritual event, but also an event to build community and strong bonds of friendship as the ladies spend time together.
Nisreen shared on the topic of “What are You Interested in?” based on the scriptures from Luke 10:38-42:
“As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
The meeting always takes the format of a discussion, with interaction, questions, and hearts being shared. It’s not so much a time of instruction, as it is a time of sharing and building each other up in the Lord. It was a blessed time together and the ladies are looking forward to their next session together. And of course, no women’s meeting is complete without sharing a delicious and traditional Israeli breakfast afterward!
