Baptism at the Jordan River is something many Christians dream of, following in the footsteps of Jesus Himself.
So, when a couple of believers from abroad arrived in Israel hoping to be baptized in these sacred waters, they were eager and full of anticipation. But there was an unexpected twist — the official baptism site was closed.
At first, it felt like a real setback, especially after the long journey these believers had made. But we quickly realized this was more than just a logistical hiccup — it felt like a spiritual test. We weren’t about to let a closed gate stop what God had planned.
Instead of turning back, we prayed and trusted God to open another door. And sure enough, He led us to a different spot along the Jordan River.
By His grace, we were able to baptize our friends Job and Elijah there.
Seeing their joy and peace as they emerged from the water was truly something special. They knew, as we all did, that this moment was meant to be, despite the obstacles we had faced.
This experience reminded us of the Great Commission Jesus gave us — to go out and baptize people from all nations. It reinforced just how important it is to push forward in our faith, no matter which challenges come our way.
In the end, what could have been a disappointing day turned into a powerful victory.
The enemy might have tried to disrupt God’s plan, but he didn’t succeed. Job and Elijah left the Jordan River not only baptized but with a renewed sense of God’s presence and purpose in their lives.
Looking back, we’re filled with gratitude. Even when doors seem to close, God always makes a way. That day by the Jordan wasn’t just about baptism — it was about seeing God’s faithfulness in action.
We left with our faith strengthened, knowing that nothing can stop God’s plans from being fulfilled.
