Following Jesus means being willing to pay the price that not many are willing to pay.

Some of the ones who gathered to shout “Hosanna!” on Palm Sunday, by the end of that week were shouting “Crucify him!”.

Make sure it is not in you to become that person. The only way to do it is to acknowledge that following Jesus doesn’t only carry blessings, but also suffering.

Everybody wanted to go with Jesus to Jerusalem to celebrate Passover, but not everyone stayed with Him when He reached to cross.

There’s no Palm Sunday without Good Friday.

That is something you need to be certain of in your personal life, following Jesus to Jerusalem also means following Him even to the cross.

Most people don’t want the suffering, just the blessings, however you can’t go into Jerusalem to celebrate Palm Sunday without knowing there’s a cross waiting for you at the end.

Don’t ask for new anointing in your life, if you’re not willing the pay the price.

Philippians 1:29 — “For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him.”

Alongside the privilege of trusting in Christ comes the privilege of suffering for Him, and it is up to every single one of us to make the decision to pay that price.

Because following Him is accepting the price we will pay for Him. There is no celebration in Jerusalem on Sunday without the pain of the cross on Friday.

Are you willing to pay the price of the anointing that flows from the cross? That price is enduring with Jesus until the end, through good times and bad times, through blessings, but also through pain.
