Through our Haifa branch, Home of Jesus the King Church is reaching out in love to some of the most vulnerable people in our communities—those experiencing homelessness on the streets of Haifa. Each month, we run special projects to bless these precious individuals who come from all walks of life and face many hardships. Though their stories differ, they all share one common need: to be seen, cared for, and reminded that they are not forgotten.
We consider it a great privilege to answer this call.
As followers of Jesus, we want to be His hands and feet, reaching out in practical ways to meet both physical and spiritual needs. Each month, we prepare food baskets filled with essentials to help sustain them for days ahead, bringing relief to their daily struggle just to find their next meal.
But we don’t stop there. Alongside providing food, we take time to encourage and pray with them, reminding each person of their value and God’s unfailing love. This past week our team from Nazareth worked closely with our wonderful volunteers from the Netherlands to assemble these baskets, loading them carefully into our van before heading out to the streets of Haifa for distribution.
This ministry reflects the heart of Jesus, who taught us in Matthew:
Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.
Matthew 25:40
When we care for those in need, we are caring for Jesus Himself.
