In this season of giving and reflection, our hearts are drawn to the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, who taught us, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40). At the Home of Jesus the King’s branch in Haifa, this divine mandate inspires us to extend love and practical care to the homeless—both Jewish and Arab—living on the margins of society.
Each week, our team reaches out with food baskets, warm clothing, toiletries, and other essentials. Yet, the most transformative gift we bring is the encouragement, kindness, and love of Jesus. Many of these individuals face profound struggles, whether as addicts, victims of rejection, or those who feel forgotten by the world. But through this ministry, they encounter a God who sees them, loves them, and calls them by name.
In the video accompanying this article, you’ll meet one of our recipients—a woman who, with heartfelt gratitude, thanks God for the food package she received. It means she’ll have enough to eat over the weekend. Her joy and relief echo the sentiments of so many others we serve.
This project, rooted in the heart of Haifa, is essential to our ministry. Every effort is made to locate the truly needy families and individuals in the area. Whether someone is living on the streets or struggling in hidden poverty, we are determined to reach them. With every package handed out, we see an opportunity to share not only physical sustenance but also the spiritual sustenance found in Jesus Christ.
As Christmas approaches, we are prayerfully working to expand this ministry to bless even more lives. This season reminds us of the humble birth of our Savior, who came to bring hope and salvation to a weary world. What better way to honor Him than by serving those in need?
We are deeply thankful to God for the privilege of this ministry and for each of you who supports it through prayer, donations, or volunteering. Together, we are the hands and feet of Christ, demonstrating His love in a tangible way.
