During this time of war in Israel, it’s critically important for us as believers to shine the light of Jesus, and to work towards unity in Israel, building bridges of love and understanding between Arabs and Jews in Israel. This is especially true when it comes to military personnel, as Israel has both Jews and Arabs serving in the military, contrary to what the secular media is reporting.

We recently started working with “Beit HaChayal,” which is a dormitory named the “Soldier’s House” in Haifa, where lone soldiers, both Jews and Arabs are being hosted and taken care of while serving their country. These soldiers often serve far away from home, and in some case are Jews who recently immigrated to Israel by themselves, without any family members to support them.

At the Soldiers House there are currently 175 soldiers being hosted, and we wanted to visit them and celebrate Christmas with them, both to proclaim to them that “Jesus is the Reason for the Season,” and also to make sure that they are given Christmas gifts to put a smile on their faces. We needed them to know that we as believers love them, appreciate them, and that they are not forgotten.

We were also blessed to have a group of believers from Singapore join us, and who got the chance to meet some of these soldiers, and to tell them about the love of Christians from the nations and to bless them. As the Word of God instructs, we served these dear military personnel as bridge-builders and peacemakers, as it’s not empty words, but about deeds testifying of the love and reality of Christ.
