Let’s talk about something at the very heart of our faith—the resurrection of Jesus. This isn’t just a historical event or a doctrine we acknowledge; it’s the foundation of everything we believe. It confirms our salvation, strengthens our faith, and assures us of our own resurrection one day!
The Resurrection: The Heart of Our Faith
Paul puts it plainly in 1 Corinthians 15:14: “And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain.” In other words, without the resurrection, our faith would be meaningless. But thank God, Jesus did rise! That changes everything. His resurrection proves that His sacrifice was accepted, and that we are truly forgiven (1 Corinthians 15:17). Romans 4:25 puts it this way: “He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.” Simply put, His resurrection sealed the deal for our salvation.
More Than Just an Event—It’s a Daily Reality
A lot of people see the resurrection as something we just celebrate once a year on Easter. But the truth is, it’s something we live out every single day. Romans 6:4-5 tells us that since Christ was raised, we also walk in newness of life. His resurrection gives us power over sin, fear, and even death. Every victory we have as believers comes from this amazing truth.
The Old Testament Points to the Resurrection
Some think the Old Testament is separate from the New, like they belong to different faiths. But that’s not true! The Bible is one continuous story. Jesus Himself explained that the Law and the Prophets were all pointing to Him (Luke 24:27). The resurrection isn’t some new idea—it was God’s plan from the very beginning.
Answering the Big Questions
Some skeptics ask: If Jesus is God, and He died and was buried, who was running the universe during that time? That’s a fair question, but it comes from not fully understanding who Jesus is. Let’s break it down:
- His divine nature never died
Jesus’ human body died, but His divine nature is eternal. He’s both fully God and fully man. - God isn’t limited by time or space
Just like the Virgin Mary’s womb couldn’t limit God, neither could the tomb. - Jesus explained His own nature
In John 3:13, He says, “No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.” In other words, He’s from heaven, and He has power over life and death. - He was both dead and alive
Revelation 1:18 says: “I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive forever and ever!” That’s our Jesus—completely beyond human limits!
Our Future Resurrection
Here’s the best part: His resurrection guarantees ours! 1 Corinthians 15:20-22 makes it clear that because He was raised, we will be too. Death isn’t the end for us—it’s just the beginning of eternity with Him.

In a world full of doubts and questions, we need to be ready to stand firm. The resurrection is the cornerstone of our faith, and we have solid scriptural and historical evidence for it. Let’s be prepared to share this truth with confidence (1 Peter 3:15).
