At Home of Jesus the King Church, we are always seeking ways to bring the hope and light of Jesus to those facing hardship, especially in times of crisis. In response to the recent rocket fire from Lebanon, our church has launched a special initiative called the Therapy Bears Project to bring comfort and joy to children affected by the trauma of war.
These soft, weighted teddy bears are more than just toys. They are a source of comfort for children living under the constant threat of rocket attacks. The bears have been carefully designed to provide a soothing effect when hugged, helping children feel more secure during these difficult times.
We recently heard from Nur, a mother from the north of Israel, who shared her emotional testimony of surviving a terrifying rocket attack with her young daughter. As they were driving, a rocket exploded right next to their car, filling it with smoke and shaking them with fear. Nur’s little girl was deeply traumatized by the experience, especially every time the air raid sirens sounded.
When Nur’s daughter received one of our Therapy Bears, she clung to it with relief. Having something soft, comforting, and weighted to hold brought her peace, helping her cope with the fear and uncertainty she faces daily. For many children like her, these bears are a symbol of love and reassurance.
The impact of the Therapy Bears Project has been immediate and profound. We are distributing the bears to both Arab and Jewish children, and the response from families has been overwhelming. Many parents have expressed deep gratitude, telling us how much these simple yet thoughtful gifts mean to their children.
In times of crisis, it’s the small acts of love and kindness that make the biggest difference. By providing these Therapy Bears, we are reminding the children that they are not alone and that even in the midst of fear, there is hope. Please continue to pray for the families affected by this conflict, and for the healing and comfort of the little ones in need.
Your support enables us to keep blessing children in this meaningful way, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to serve them during these uncertain times. Together, we can bring comfort, joy, and the love of Jesus to their hearts.
