The influx of new immigrants and refugees from Ukraine has continued unabated over the past few months, and it seems that more and more refugees will be immigrating to Israel as the war in Ukraine continues. These dear immigrants and refugees arrive in Israel with minimal possessions, and literally need help with everything — from diapers to clothes, to food, to toiletries. We here at Home of Jesus the King Church have made a decision to show these precious souls the love of Christ by helping them in any way we can.
This past week saw us blessing tens of Ukrainian refugee families with bundles of quality and warm winter blankets, as this winter in Israel has been quite cold. It was such a joy to arrive at the meeting hall in Nof Hagalil, organized by their city hall, and to see all the smiling faces, and to have people come up to us to give us hugs and handshakes.
It was astounding to realize that all the projects that we have been doing in collaboration with Nof HaGalil’s city hall, with their Ukrainian refugees, and their new Jewish immigrants, have been bearing fruit! This is what building bridges in Israel is all about—Arab believers reaching out to Jewish Israelis with the love of Jesus, establishing lasting friendships, dissolving past pains, and being a blessing in a time of need.
There was a wonderful moment during the project when a mother and her little daughter came up to me. The little one handed me a box of candy and told me how thankful she was for our help. I was touched by this gesture, and it was a tremendous testimony to me. For that child to bring me that box of candy meant the world to me, for I knew what a sacrifice it was for her to show me such kindness by giving away her candy.
God is building beautiful relationships between our community of Arab believers and these dear people. We continue to pray that more and more of them will come and visit our humanitarian center in Nazareth to receive additional aid in the form of clothes, food, blankets, etc. It will also give us an opportunity to pray with them, listen to their life stories, and be a shoulder to cry on.
Seeing all these immigrants and refugees flooding into Israel, makes me believe that the time of harvest is near and that it is now more important than ever to sow seeds of the love of Yeshua. We are already thinking ahead to our next project during Passover with these dear Ukrainian refugees, and we really want to make it special for them, and so we pray for God’s guidance. Amen!
I pray that you’ll enjoy these videos and photos from the project and that you’ll be able to join us at one of these projects in the near future.
