Greetings from Nazareth!
In seasons like this, it becomes very clear what it means to follow Yeshua in a practical way. Not only in what we say, but in how we show up—how we care, how we serve, and how we stand with people in the middle of uncertainty. As it is written, Yeshua went about doing good, and in these days, we feel that calling in a very real and simple way.
When we visit the shelters now, we are seeing something that is becoming more and more common. Families are not just coming in for a short time anymore—they are staying. For some, it has been weeks already, and for others, even longer. Life in a shelter is not easy. It is crowded, uncomfortable, and very tiring—especially for parents with children. Over time, it is not only the big needs that matter, but also the small, everyday things that help a person feel steady and cared for.
Because of this, we felt it was important to begin a new step in our outreach.
Alongside the food packages and mattresses we are continuing to distribute, we have started preparing hygiene kits and first aid boxes for families in shelters across Haifa, Nazareth, Migdal HaEmek, and Nof HaGalil. Each package includes simple but important items—shampoo, shower gel, toothbrushes, toothpaste, hand soap, deodorants, shaving kits, towels, and more—things that allow people to take care of themselves even in difficult conditions. We are also adding first aid kits, so families have something available if a need comes up inside the shelter.
These are not big things, but when you are living in a shelter, they become very meaningful. When we bring these packages, we are not only meeting a practical need—we are also coming with a message: that people are not alone, and they are not forgotten. We take time with each person to listen, to encourage, and, when possible, to pray and share the hope that we have in Yeshua. Often, it is in these simple moments that hearts begin to open.
At the same time, we continue with the other parts of our work—packing food for families, distributing mattresses, and responding to new needs as they come. Every day, new families are arriving, and every day there is another opportunity to serve. We do not know how long this season will continue, but we want to remain faithful in what the Lord has given us to do—to be present, to serve, and to be light in a simple and consistent way.
