Every day seems to bring another headline. War. Rising antisemitism. Political unrest. Nations taking sides. Tensions surrounding Jerusalem continue to grow, leaving many believers asking the same question: What is happening, and where is God in the middle of it all? These are not easy days to understand, and it is natural to feel overwhelmed by the constant flow of troubling news. Yet as followers of Yeshua, we are not called to interpret history through headlines alone. We are called to see the world through the unchanging truth of God’s Word.
During our recent conference in Germany, I had the privilege of sharing a message that has been deeply on my heart. It was not a political message, but a biblical one. Because before we can understand today’s events, we must first understand God’s heart for Israel—and His faithfulness to every promise He has ever made.
God’s Promises Have Never Changed
One of the greatest misunderstandings in church history has been the belief that God has finished with Israel. Yet when we open Romans chapters 9, 10, and 11, we discover something entirely different. The Apostle Paul reminds us that God’s calling is irrevocable. The same God who scattered His people among the nations also promised that one day He would gather them again.
Long before the modern State of Israel existed, the prophets spoke of a worldwide regathering of the Jewish people. Isaiah declared it. Ezekiel declared it. Zechariah pointed toward it. Today, we are witnessing those promises unfold before our very eyes as Jewish families continue returning home from every corner of the earth. This is not merely history unfolding. It is the faithfulness of God on display—a reminder that the Lord never abandons His covenant and never forgets the promises He has spoken.
Looking Beyond the Headlines
The Bible never promised that Israel’s restoration would be without opposition. On the contrary, Scripture tells us that Jerusalem would become a focal point for the nations and that hostility toward the Jewish people would increase in the last days. As difficult as these days may be, none of what we are witnessing has caught God by surprise. When we see war, growing hatred, and uncertainty surrounding Israel, we should remember that God is still sovereign. His purposes have not changed. His covenant has not been forgotten. Even in moments of darkness, He continues working toward His redemptive plan.
That does not mean we celebrate suffering. We grieve for every life affected by conflict and continue praying for peace. But we also hold firmly to the assurance that our God is faithfully accomplishing His purposes, even when we cannot yet see the full picture. Faith does not ignore reality—it anchors itself in the God who rules over it.
The Story Doesn’t End With Conflict
The remarkable truth of Scripture is that God’s ultimate purpose has never been judgment—it has always been redemption. The prophets point toward a day when many in Israel will recognize their Messiah and call upon the name of the Lord. What appears to the world as chaos is, in God’s hands, part of a much greater story that reveals His mercy, His faithfulness, and His unwavering love. This is why our response as believers is not fear. It is hope. It is prayer. It is trusting that the God who began this story will also bring it to its glorious fulfillment.
Becoming Part of God’s Story
As followers of Yeshua, we have the privilege of participating in what God is doing—not merely by observing history, but by praying, blessing, and faithfully proclaiming the Good News to every nation. Jesus’ commission remains unchanged: “Go and make disciples of all nations.” Israel is not excluded from that calling. Neither is any other nation. God’s heart has always been for redemption, and He invites us to become part of His work by reflecting His love to everyone He places before us.
My prayer is that the Lord will give each of us eyes to recognize His faithfulness, hearts that remain steadfast in His promises, and faith to trust Him even when the world around us seems uncertain. As we continue following His plan together, may we never lose sight of the hope we have in the Messiah.
