As we continue walking through this season, we are seeing something that is becoming clearer week by week. What many hoped would be temporary is, for many families, becoming a longer reality. Shelters are no longer just a place to pass through for a few hours—they are becoming a place where people are living.
When we visit these shelters now, we meet families who have been there for days, and sometimes even weeks. Parents are doing their best to create a sense of normal life for their children in a very limited space. Elderly people are sitting for long hours without proper rest. The physical tiredness is real, but there is also an emotional weight that many are carrying quietly.
In moments like this, we are reminded again that following Yeshua is not only about words—it is about being present. It is about showing up in simple, consistent ways, and caring for people in the middle of their reality.
This is why we have continued—and expanded—this part of our outreach.
Alongside the food packages and mattresses, we are now regularly preparing and distributing hygiene kits and first aid boxes to families in shelters across Haifa, Nazareth, Migdal HaEmek, and Nof HaGalil. These may seem like small things, but in a shelter, they become very important.
A toothbrush. A clean towel. Soap. A simple way to wash and feel refreshed. A small first aid kit nearby.
These are the kinds of things that help restore a sense of dignity. They help people feel human again in a situation that can easily take that away.
But even more than that, every visit is an opportunity to sit with people, to listen, and to remind them that they are not alone. We are not coming only with supplies—we are coming with presence. And in those quiet moments, when someone feels seen and cared for, something begins to open in the heart.
At the same time, the need is not slowing down.
Every day, more families are entering shelters. Every day, the demand continues to grow. What began as an emergency response has now become an ongoing mission—one that requires consistency, faithfulness, and partnership.
