Today we would like to share this amazing testimony from Yvonne:
There is nothing greater than sharing how good God has been to us! The more we experience His love, the more we are filled with joy in testifying about His goodness. Today, I want to share how God has miraculously opened doors for me in my career—doors I never imagined could open.
For years, I have testified about how my journey to becoming a driving instructor was guided entirely by God. It was not something I planned, yet He made the way clear. This time, He showed His faithfulness in an even greater way.
My husband was attending college to qualify for an additional driving category, and I felt led to ask one of my former professors if I should prepare myself for professional management in driving schools. He asked about my experience, and when I told him I had more than three years, he encouraged me to submit my documents to the Licensing Office. Jokingly, he told me that these management exams only open once every few years and that I might have to wait until I turned 70 to get an opportunity.
I laughed and confidently said:
“Watch what happens when I submit my documents!”
With nothing to lose, I gathered all my paperwork and submitted it in May. Then, I put it out of my mind. I called Pastor Saleem and his wife Nisreen, who always support me in prayer, and told them, “If this is God’s will, He will open the door. If not, it will remain closed.” And then, I completely forgot about it.
To my surprise, in November, I received a call from the Licensing Office. The person on the line said, “Mark your calendar—on December 30, you have your professional management exam.” I was in shock! I couldn’t believe it had actually happened.
The preparation was extremely challenging.
I had to study complex automotive mechanics, and it felt overwhelming. I confided in Pastor Saleem, telling him that I was struggling to understand the material. But he reassured me, saying, “Yvonne, I can already congratulate you because you will pass this exam.” I couldn’t understand how he could be so sure—I felt lost in the technical studies and doubted my ability to succeed.
During this time, something unexpected happened. One of my former instructors, who had seen my dedication, asked me to prepare a presentation on traffic laws for a course training bus drivers. I hesitated, telling him that I was already overwhelmed with my upcoming exam. But he insisted, saying, “Prepare it—you will teach this.” So, I put together the presentation, even though my mind was consumed with my own studies.
Then, the day of my exam arrived. As soon as I walked into the room, they began asking me questions—not on mechanics, which I had struggled with, but on bus regulations—the very topic I had just been teaching in the course! I couldn’t believe it. None of the questions I had specifically prepared for were asked. Instead, they asked only about the material I had been forced to review while teaching others.
I left the exam feeling uncertain, thinking that I hadn’t performed well. When my pastor asked how it went, I told him that they had only asked me questions outside of my study materials. He responded with faith: “Don’t worry, it will be good.” And he was right! Later that day, I received the results—I had passed! Out of ten candidates, only two of us made it through, and the other person had family connections that secured her spot.
But my success was purely God’s doing.
I sat in awe, reflecting on how God had orchestrated everything. He had me teach a course so that I would be prepared for an exam I had no way of anticipating. His ways are so much higher than ours! What seemed like an unrelated opportunity was actually His divine preparation.
This whole experience reminded me of the power of words. When I submitted my documents, I declared that the committee would open, and it did! For seven years, these committees had remained closed, and suddenly, in God’s perfect timing, they opened just for me.
I have stopped trying to plan too far ahead. Now, I simply trust in God’s plan.
People ask me, “Now that you’re studying professional management, do you want to open your own driving school?” My answer is always, “I don’t know. Let’s first finish the course and see what God has in store.” There is no need to stress about the future because everything happens in God’s perfect time.
The power of prayer, the faith of my church community, and the unwavering love of God have brought me to this place. His love knows no conditions, and His blessings come beyond our expectations. When He opens a door, He opens it fully. When He blesses, He blesses abundantly! There is no love like God’s, no miracles like His.
