There are moments when the love of God is experienced in the simplest ways.
Here in Nazareth, our summers are long and incredibly hot. After walking through the streets under the blazing sun, there is something refreshing about receiving an ice-cold drink. Most people see it as a small kindness. I see it as an opportunity God can use to change a life.
At our Nazareth Humanitarian Aid Center, we recently added something that may seem surprisingly simple—a slushie machine. At first glance, it might not appear to be an important part of ministry. Yet we believe it will become one of the many ways God opens hearts to His love.
Every person who walks through our doors will be welcomed with a free cold drink and invited to sit with us for a few moments. There is no pressure, no agenda—just genuine hospitality, a listening ear, and people who truly care.
Again and again, we have discovered that relationships often begin with simple acts of kindness. A conversation that starts over a refreshing drink can quickly become an opportunity to hear someone’s story, pray with them through a difficult season, or share the hope we have found in Yeshua the Messiah.
Today, the Lord has entrusted us with humanitarian centers in Nazareth and Haifa, while our new Lighthouse Humanitarian Center in Nof HaGalil continues to take shape. Although each center serves different communities, they all share the same mission: to demonstrate the love of God in practical ways while creating opportunities to share the hope of the Gospel.
Jesus often met people’s physical needs before speaking to their spiritual ones. He fed the hungry, healed the sick, welcomed the outcast, and revealed the Father’s heart through acts of compassion. We desire our humanitarian centers to reflect that same example.
Every cup we serve will represent something much greater than a cold refreshment. It says, “You are welcome here. You are valued. God has not forgotten you.” For many who walk through our doors, that simple act of kindness may become the first step toward discovering the transforming love of Yeshua.
