When we opened our new humanitarian aid center in Haifa, we did so with a deep prayer in our hearts — that this place would become a lighthouse for the Kingdom of God in this city. Not simply a distribution point or another program, but a living testimony that the light of Messiah shines in practical and visible ways.
This week marked a meaningful new beginning in that vision.
For the first time, our kitchen came alive with the sounds of preparation and joyful expectation as we began cooking and serving hot meals to the homeless and needy in Haifa. The aroma of freshly prepared food filled the center — meat carefully cooked, rice with peas and carrots, fruit thoughtfully placed into each bag, and bread added so that every person would have something for later in the evening. Each meal was prepared with dignity and care, not rushed, but personal.
As Yeshua teaches us in Matthew 25:35, “I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink.” These words are not theoretical for us. They are a calling. They remind us that when we serve the hungry, we are serving Him.
Our dear chef, Taufiq, took time off from his regular job so he could help lead this first week of cooking.
Alongside him were members of our Home of Jesus the King family — faithful brothers and sisters who gladly gave their time to serve. With humility and joy, they prepared each meal carefully, knowing it would bless both Arab and Jewish men and women in need across Haifa.
In these simple, practical acts of service, we see something deeply meaningful: one local believing community extending God’s love beyond itself, reaching across lines and backgrounds to care for anyone who is hungry. It is a quiet reflection of God’s heart — compassion without distinction, love in action.
There is something sacred about beginnings. When something new is planted, it may look small, but it carries great potential. These first meals represent more than food. They are seeds — seeds of compassion, relationship, dignity, and hope. And as trust grows, conversations open. As relationships form, hearts soften. In this way, practical love becomes a bridge for the Gospel.
When someone receives a warm meal with dignity and kindness, it prepares the ground for something deeper — for prayer, for listening, for sharing the hope we have in Yeshua. The message of the Gospel is not only spoken; it is demonstrated. As Scripture says, “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). Our desire is that through these simple acts of service, people will encounter not only food for their bodies, but hope for their souls.
In a season when the news often feels heavy and discouraging, we believe God has positioned us here for a clear purpose: to shine steadily and faithfully. Not through noise, but through service. Not through words alone, but through lives that reflect His love.
This new outreach also brings responsibility.
Cooking regularly, purchasing ingredients, maintaining the facility, and expanding our capacity will require ongoing support. Yet we step forward with confidence, trusting the Lord and grateful for partners like you who make this possible.
